Nancy Jack Todd is an environmental writer based on Cape Cod. She is currently the editor of Annals of Earth, an environmental journal published by Ocean Arks International. A co-founder of the New Alchemy Institute, where she edited and published the Journal of the New Alchemists, she has contributed articles to many environmental journals. She is co-author, with John Todd, of From Eco-Cities to Living Machines: Precepts of Ecological Design; Bioshelters, Ocean Arks, City Farming: Ecology as the Basis of Design; and Tomorrow is Our Permanent Address. She has lectured at a number of universities and colleges in the US, Canada, and Europe and won several prestigious environmental awards. She is married to ecological designer John Todd. They have three children and a lovely little flock of multi- racial, multi-ethnic grandchildren. When at home she reads, writes, runs, swims, gardens, dances, and picnics. Her book is dedicated to children everywhere.
